Samaria gorge hiking trip
Samaria gorge is a gorge of unparalleled beauty in the southwest of Crete. From 1962 until today it is not only a national park but also one of the longest gorges in Europe with a length of approximately 16 kilometers.
During the hiking, visitors have the opportunity to admire the lush vegetation and the rare kri-kri (Cretan goat).
At the end of the gorge, there is a small village named Agia Roumeli where people can taste Cretan cousine in many typical Cretan restaurants sitting by the sea and admiring the landscape.
At the small harbour of Agia Roumeli a boat is waiting for visitors to bring them to the village of Sougia where the buses and taxis are waiting to drive people back to Chania.
